416 8944 Cpl Jenner 103 Squadron RAF Nicosia BFPO 53 March 15 Dear daddy Thank you for the communication of today also photos and David's ABC set. I am relieved to hear that The Elms will not be demolished, but it is still a pity that it cannot remain a school. What a pity's Wimbourn got to Hill Place first? I wonder what will happen to MCSOSA now its leaders are disbanded and The Elms is no longer in use for meetings et cetera. I hope it doesn't degenerate into a youth club! Who will take over the presidency et cetera? What a pity Jesse didn't go into teaching that would have solved it. We have been looking at coloured slides recently. Bill has a projector and coloured slides. David is on several and looks lovely. I have just read a book by Siegfried Sassoon called The Complete Memoirs of George Sherston. He mentions Kent his home a great deal but has changed all the names e.g. Dumbridge, and Baldock Wood Junction. He says he lived at a place called Butley near Baldock Wood. I think he means Pluckley. He mentions Canterbury cricket week. By the way, we have not received any books as you said you had posted some off. If you are getting rid of books about general knowledge et cetera can I have some please! As I do the kids page I could use a few facts and have no relevant books out here. Did I tell you how musical David is? He always dances when music comes on, where ever he is and shows off. He comes to Sunday School with me now, and is very good. Well it is is bath time now. Lots of love Flora, Ian and David PS we might be buying a budgie
