Jennerations

A genealogy of the Jenner and Moate Family

Search

Welcome!

Jenners have been around Hastings since they arrived in 1066 when Moates were settled in Yorkshire. Perhaps our first meeting was during the brutal Harrying. A more peaceful coming together took place when Colin Jenner and Susan Moate married in Brixton in 2001. Within five years we had two wonderful girls and our family was complete. Susan’s mother and father were there, Lewis and Joan (née Guy) Moate. Joan’s ancestors have roots going back to the early days of the making of the Fens. Colin’s mother Florence, née Piper, was a witness at the wedding and she was always proud of her Kentish roots. Colin’s father, John Crichton Jenner, was in Australia, too ill to travel. He died within a year but did get to meet his first granddaughter at the end of his life. His mother was a Scot. There are many stories held in the branches of this tree - everyone special and cherished.
