NEW STATIONMASTER AT STANSTED — Mr. A. L. Guy has taken over duties of stationmaster at Stansted in succession to Mr. G. W. Lambert, who retired from the position of stationmaster of the Bishop' Stortford and Stansted stations. Mr. Guy is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Guy. farmers. of Dorothea House. Manea. and began railway at Manea station. Before coming to Stansted he was stationmaster's clerk at March for three, and a half years. Whilst working at March he resided at Doddington. where Mrs. Guy took active part in the life the community. and was especially interested in the Women's Institute, of which body she served on the general committee and was secretary to the entertainment committee. Prior to coining to March Mr. Guy was at St. Ives for 11 years. for the latter part which he was chief clerk of the passenger department. He has held positions at several other stations. including Dunmow. Newmarket and Wisbeach. During the Great War he saw active service in Palestine and France.
