Actual Text:	<span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-size:12pt;">4168944 Cpl Jenner 103 Squadron RAF Nicosia BFPO 53 January 24 Dear Daddy and Lena Thank you very much for the two letters and also the tablecloth and Davids bell and cups. He loves his bell but the cups are put away till hes older. Yes your letter reached me for my birthday. We read all local news in the Kent messenger. Miss Bunch says in a letter you bumped into her in Woolworths but didn't see her. She is always keen for a word so look out for Miss Bunch. I hope The Elms will not be used for anything other than a school. It would be nice for David to go there if it is a boarding school I thought perhaps. David can run now and says the following words 'mummy', 'daddy', 'ta', 'Ta ta', 'Yum Yum'(food) and 'no', and 'shoe'. He tries 'hello' sometimes. He can wave and blow kisses and understands a good many words. He says also 'bo wow' (dog) and at the word 'muff' looks for the cat 'Muff' and waves that it. He has fallen out of his cot because he keeps on climbing but he is none the worse. Fancy you wasting money on TV. I think its all rot. The Queen was at Akrotin about 60 miles away. All the Nicosia boys got out of it was working overtime in case of emergency! The enclosed magazines are, as you will see, one of my pidgeons. I have marked my efforts. I write the editorials for most of them and my childrens page goes on. I have been waiting for large envelopes to put them in that is why I have delayed writing. Ian has put a car radio in the car. He got it second-hand for five shillings. It goes beautifully. Will MCSOSA flourish when The Elms has changed hands. At Christmas we entertained. We got a big turkey and made 2 big Christmas puddings. David enjoyed himself and jumped with glee and clapped. I had a heavy cold and felt low, Ian had to work from 5:30 am till 7. 30 p.m. on Boxing Day. Our </span><span style="font-family:Yu Gothic;">?</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">midnight service</span><span style="font-family:Yu Gothic;">?</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> babysitter set fire to an armchair while we were at church and when we returned home it was full of smoke and he was asleep! On Christmas Day itself our guests didnt turn up so Ian and I spent the whole afternoon looking for them! Ian had to miss the evening carol service at night because the babysitter got drunk! And on Tuesday we were let down by another babysitter and had to rush around at the 11th hour looking for one. We were 9 to tea. We went to Ians squadron party (great fun) but had to leave early in case a boy to say </span><span style="font-family:Yu Gothic;">?</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">cheerio</span><span style="font-family:Yu Gothic;">?</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> en route to the UK unexpectedly. Then we were both ill after something we had taken at this party! The weather was warm and hot. Now it freezes at night with gales of ice and frost. Outside taps freeze and ice forms. Very cold. We have had a lovely new white sink put into the kitchen and our drawing room painted pale green. All the house is upside down, but tomorrow I hope to get started putting things back. Ian is busy studying for his trade exam (corporal technician) and hasnt had time to do any maths. We saw the </span><span style="font-family:Yu Gothic;">?</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">shapes</span><span style="font-family:Yu Gothic;">?</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> photo in the paper recently and in the Men of Kent and Kentish Men magazine. I have rejoined the Men of Kent. Mr Watson said you have seen him. We have written to Limavady about the M and G interest. We havent had any interest whatsoever yet! Something is wrong somewhere. On Saturday we are going to see Tony Hancock who is coming here. All the mountains about here are covered in snow. I go to a dancing club on Monday evenings with some of Ians friends and some ladies.
