Actual Text:
Know all men by these presents that I Erskine piper of Matfield Green, Brenchley, in the county of Kent, draper and grocer, am held and firmly bound to George piper of Mayfield in the county of Sussex, gentlemen, in the sum of 1200 pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said George piper or to his certain attorney executor's administrators or assigns for which payment to be well and faithfully made I bind myself my heirs executives and administrators and every of them firmly by these presents sealed with my seal dated this 24th day of June in the year of our Lord 1881. Know is such that the above Written bond or obligation is such that the above bounden Erskine piper his heirs executor's or administrators shall upon the 24th day of December now next ensuring well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said George piper his executives administers or assigns the sum of 600 pounds of lawful money of Great Britain with interest for the same after the rate of five pounds per centum per annum to be computed from the day of the date of these presents without any deduction or abatement whatsoever. Then the above written bond or obligation shall be void or otherwise shall remain in full force and virtue signed sealed and delivered by the above named Erskine piper in the presence of Walter Sprott
