14 Sep 64 Dear Flora It is with deep regret I write these few lines to let know that on Tuesday August 25th Auntie May passed peacefully away, aged 76 years. She had been unwell for some months but she had been active until the previous Sunday. I am extremely sorry I have not written before but I have been extremely busy harvesting and, in fact, I only came across your address at the Wellands a few days ago. The funeral took place at Peterstow Church before a large gathering on Saturday the 29th of August. Perhaps you would be kind enough to inform your relations in Maidstone of our sad loss. I hope that you and your family are well Yours sincerely Lionel Wall
