My dear children
Thank you for yours. Glad you like your surroundings and above all your school and trust you will both have good health and then I feel all will be well. Yes everything is so dear, butter, milk, and Jack only lets me have 6 ozs of sugar. I cannot get to see Mattingly, the last time I saw him, he said, he had heard from you and was writing you.
The dresser Brooks said would be better stained in London so it's not done. If the wardrobe was moved in my bedroom from the old room you might have the small one. Aunt Clara has been sadly, kidney trouble. I fear Aunt Rose has been badly. I think of going up this afternoon.
Surprise and wonderment, your cousin Lizzie and Arthur were married at Bethelbe last Tuesday, their mother and father only present, outcome of the photo which you brought down. I told your dear father that would lead that way. Your aunt Mrs Weeks bought in yours which thank you for, I am pleased to have it. It looks quite alright, the crossed legs especially. You do not say where you go on Sundays, when you go to Clapham. Mr Midmer is pastor and your cousin Barry Piper, Mildred 's brother, attends there. When I spend a little time with you I hope to fish out all these points.
When do you have half term, you will then come to your homes. Your mother and father both talk of paying you a visit soon.
I went and saw some rooms in T Wells this week, they are less suitable, in St James Rd. Mr Guest, Mayfield, and brothers. I am so undecided don't know which to do stay here or there. Two bedrooms and sitting room use of kitchen 15/- per week. Fred M and his wife still out of a job. They had two motors and went to Maidstone in the evening last Sunday taking all the cream of the congregation including Fanny Palmer, Dolly Taylor, Alice Staines etc. You ask for news thought you would like to know how we are shriven this way.
Had PC from Tassie from Perth, have you done anything about Ernest and your Aunt G. Have received receipt from music man. Shall we sell the big clock. I am now going to get ready to go R.U. Nellie goes to school and seems very happy.
With every good wish trusting you are both well with heaps of love
your affectionate
Mother
