.. I have quite a bit to share with you ... about this particular branch of the family; and a smattering of photos of some of the others in her family from when Susanna returned to England for a visit in 1881 taking her 9 year old eldest grandson, my grandfather, with her.

My grandfather was Ernest Charles Mitchell, born 1871 in Perth, son of John Elijah Mitchell, b 1846 in Newbury; son of Susanna and Samuel Titus Mitchell who arrived from Newbury to the Swan River Settlement on the "Will Watch" in 1852.
Samuel was a Master baker & confectioner; and a musician and importer and seller of musical instruments.

They had only the one child, John Elijah, which was unusual in those times. (I also was an only child.)... |
