Spent day at Barry Is. With Auntie Amy & Ethel. Met her at Marine Hotel.
Shopped with Mrs James in morning. Made her a black hat in afternoon.
Lovely afternoon at Penarth. Returned to Cardiff. Spent evening with Abbots.
Went to fetch ma’s shoes from repairs. Wind took umbrella & Elsie & I got soaked through.

Connie French & Mrs Hedges (maid) came to see us. Told us that Dorothy was dead. Died of consumption last Friday in hospital 3.10.24. Also Mr French died last December. Dorothy buried 11.10.24

Holiday. No organ. Rec: letter telling me of vacancy at Balham High Road School. Mr Barber there. Ma, Elsie & I walked to Balham High Road School.
Return to school (No). Polling Day. Extra holiday. Took walk to Clapham in morn.
Attended St John’s Hill divisional offices. Sent home in afternoon. Was at Balham High Road in morning.
College reunion. Good time. Commenced teaching at St John’s Sch: Brixton. Master Mr Lonsdale very nice.

Wore new blue & black hat with blue feather. Went to doctor’s in morning for medicine of ma. Late for church. Sat in congregation. Mother got up.

Installation of lighting in church. Sang in choir. Lecture by Rev Mudie Draper on Wesley’s hymns.

Miss Byewater returned to school. I went to Div: offices Peckham Road to report. Miss Byewater received a letter form edu: officer saying I had been asked by a head to go to another school.
