    Maundy Thursday

    Dear daddy
Here is the 10 shillings I forgot to send!
I got my application form for working today. Being foreigners it took me ages to get to the right person – nobody knew anything about anything and some fool asked if I wanted intoxicating liquors! Anyway I ended up in the aliens office – cheek.

I shall insert an advertisement in the NAAFI and paper if I get a work permit and can take kids for 3 shillings to 5 shillings an hour in arithmetic and English.

I have just read the Kent Messenger nothing about you in it. I expect that will be in soon. I see Miss Grant's brother died and Allen's little friend got killed. Ian is at the Buffs Lodge tonight. He has joined the buffs like his dad.

    Our budgie is singing away.

David has got a dreadful cold, poor little chap so has Ian. Tomorrow we are going to church if all goes well.
Here then is 10 shillings for old boys.

    Love Flora
