Please excuse this untidy letter have just been through about 30 stock sheets today and my brain is somewhat addled.

    My dear Harry and Minnie
Some weeks ago Miss Smart leaned over to me and whispered
?I hear there is to be a smart wedding at Staplehurst of Miss Weeks to your cousin?, I have been waiting to hear from Mrs Erskine, as to date and to my surprise this morning found the wedding cake on my dressing table from you. I will at once wish you every good, both for your home and yourselves, the original occupants of Matfield House were worthy people.
It was strange, but last Saturday I walked down the town looking at the jewellers as I went home, wondering which would be most acceptable two silver serviette rings or a toast rack, and now it will, I hope, not be too late. I shall be coming I hope to Hawkhurst to Mrs Wilmshurst in February from 5th to the 15th. I do not hear from Staplehurst now like I used to + and feel very cut off from you.
Please give my love to Mrs Erskine, and perhaps you will write and tell me a little of this great event, also which is it to be rings or rack?
    I remain
    your affectionate cousin
    Mildred
