    I hereby give you notice, that I shall leave the house and premises, known by the name of Chapel house, situated at the west end of the town of Mayfield Sussex, on or before 29th day of September next, which I hired of the late Nicolas Stone Squire, as witness my hand this 21st day of March 1865

    Memorandum of an agreement between Mrs Thomas Walter of the first part, and George Piper of the second part, viz. Mrs Thomas Walter agrees to let the house, gardens and apparatus thereto belonging, situated at fletching Street to George Piper for the sum of £10 for a year exclusive of all taxes to commence at Michaelmas 1865 and the aforesaid George Piper agrees to hire the house and premises on the above conditions and the parties aforesaid agreed to give six months notice in writing previous to the termination of the said hiring.
