Happy Christmas (Cheaper than cards)

Dear Daddy and Lena
Very many thanks for the lovely set of tumblers and jug which has arrived safely to hand. We were in need of such as our RAF issue ones kept getting broken and the RAF jug is cracked! We shall only indent for more when we leave now. We are having a party on 6th January all being well, so shall need more glasses.
All the family is well thank God. Colin fell down and cut open his forehead - and had three stitches in it on Monday. I could see the bone and a great big gash. It does not worry him at all! He never cried while he was stitched up, neither did he cry at the anaesthetic. He was full of beans immediately afterwards and Ian was told all about it on arrival home with great enthusiasm!
David reads excellently - so according to Doctor Morris should go on to grammar - by kind permission of Wilson and Co not inflicting comprehensive squalor on us all by then!
Ethel is at Ringlestone now she has a flat which Elsie says is very nice and modern.
I am doing GCE German now. Term starts on January the 11th, exam in summer 69. Also I have approached Wolsey Hall about an MA (lit) course with a view to going straight into teaching when Colin is old enough. I intend to have a bash at it. It is something I can do at home. They say 2 hours a night in their pamphlet.
Tonight I should be singing carols-but last night I got so tired out that I am not going tonight. We dined in the officers mess afterwards and drank punch. It is each night until Saturday. I have made a crib for the boys, and various decorations. One raised about 5 marks for Oxfam.
Re. Oxfam the head of the forces came to see us recently. I had 11 people in (out of 30), we saw films and I gave coffee. We all enjoyed it. He was full of praise for us and couldn't believe we had raised £105 pounds so far!
Ian is studying for his chief tech. He has lots of big books to read-ever so hard to understand. If he passed it in his last exam he is not required to learn anymore.
Davids school did a Christmas concert this afternoon- I got the time wrong so only saw 10 min's! David was not in it. I was not terribly impressed- felt I could have done better, but as I say, I did not see it all.
Please don't forget to send us another ISA magazine when published.
Lots of love
Flora, Ian, David and Colin
