    Text DEATH OF MR. JAMES TESTER.—The death of Mr. James Tester took place on Monday. The deceased gentleman, who had lived for85 years, was one of the most respected members of the village community, and in his old are the maintenance of his genial and kindly attributes won for him the love and effection of all. For many years he carried on the local iron foundry and engineering works. enjoyed exceptionally good health. About a fortnight ago he was compelled to take to his bed. Of it can recorded that "his end was peace." for his transition took place his sleep. For years he was the Senior Steward of the village Wesleyan Church, and his death adds one more sorrow in the home of his son, Mr. H. F. Tester, the Etchingham Postmaster and Overseer. Thedeceased leaves four sons and one daughter who faithfully tended him through his declining years. The remains were laid to rest this (Friday) afternoon, the Holy Trinity Churchyard.
