    Text WEDDINGS.

    MR. H. PIPER AND MISS M. WEEKS.

    A wedding uniting two well known Staple-
    hurst families was solemnised at the parish
    church, Staplehurst, on Thursday, January
    1st. The bridegroom was Harry Piper, son of
    the late Mr. and Mrs. Piper, of Matfield
    House, while the bride was Minnie, younger
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Weeks, of
    The Gables. There was a large gathering
    of friends present at the service, which was
    choral. Wagners's Bridal March greeted the
    bride on her arrival whilst she made her way
    up the aisle on the arm of her father.


    TO FINISH

    was rendered by the church choir. Mr. Piper was best
    man, and there were two ushers.

    The bride wore an ivory charmeuse dress, with a court train trimmed
    with silver lace, and her bridal veil was held in place by sprays of
    orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of lilies, the gift of the
    bridegroom.

    The bridesmaids were Miss E. Weeks (sister of the bride), Miss M.
    Weeks, Miss S. Piper, and Miss J. Weeks. They wore dresses of pale
    blue taffeta and carried bouquets of yellow chrysanthemums, the
    gifts of the bridegroom.

    After the ceremony the bridal party was entertained at the home of
    the bride’s parents. Later the bride and bridegroom left for their
    honeymoon, the bride travelling in a navy costume with hat to match.

    A reception was held at the South Eastern Hotel, where the happy
    pair were joined by about 200 guests.
