Dear sirs
This is to certify that I have known Henry Isaac Piper almost from birth and believe him to be a suitable candidate for the assistant mastership.
He is a very industrious and intelligent young man and I think he would prove quite satisfactory for the office that is required to be filled.
I would like to add that his late father was a very highly respected tradesman (grocer and draper) in this parish and held for many years many important offices.
