WATSONIANS. The prospects of a good season for the Myreside team are exceptionally good, and there is every reason to hope for as great success as attended the side last year. The whole of last year's players will again be available, including, A. W. Angus, who will captain the club, W. G. Stuart, who will act as vice-captain, W. Sturrock, who alter a long rest, returns to the post of secretary; T. D. Watt, J. Pearson, W. Wilson, &c., while it is expected that J. J. Maybin, who is now a master at George Watson's College, will give his assistance when required. The fixture list is much the same as last season, matches having been arranged with the Grange, Greenock Royal High School, Heriotonians, &c., the only new fixture being with Arbroath United, who are given the date made vacant by the withdrawal of Dalkeith. The club will rely entirely on their amateur talent, and as it was sufficient to carry them through the majority of last season's contests, there is no real reason why they should not do so again. At all events, Jenner, who was professional last year, will not be back, .and so far no professional has been engaged for the club. The most interesting, matches are with the Edinburgh Schools' teams, games which yield the best of sport, but there are many others which will prove interesting, and make the season a most enjoyable one. |
